Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is expected to return against the Oakland Raiders this Sunday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Bears desperately needed their star receiver this past weekend as they were held scoreless 26-0. Quarterback Jay Cutler was also out against Seattle as he was also dealing with a hamstring injury. Backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen stepped in and had a dreadful afternoon throwing for 63 yards on 17 attempts. The only positive Clausen had was that he didn't throw an interception to the Legion of Boom.

The Bears offense has truly struggled through the first three games, and they find themselves at 28th in the league in terms of yards per game. The injury to Cutler and Jeffery likely hindered Chicago's offense, but the issues for the Bears really started this offseason.

First, the Bears traded away a top-tier receiver in Brandon MarshallThen, their top draft pick, wide receiver Kevin White, needed to get surgery for a stress fracture in his left shin that would keep him out for the rest of the 2015 season. All these issues combined with the injuries is likely why the Chicago Bears are off to an 0-3 start.

The Bears will face the Raiders this Sunday, and while Oakland is 2-1 this season they have posted the 30th pass defense in the league in terms of yards. Jeffery is likely to have a big weekend against the Raiders as he is a redzone threat with his 6-foot-3 stature. His numbers are also dependent on Cutlers availability, as he is likely to put up less impressive stats with Clausen in at quarterback.
