Republicans have criticized how United States President Barack Obama is allegedly not too firm upon implementing foreign policy. The Republicans often cite how Russian President Vladimir Putin agrees with the idea and that Obama, the head of the United States, has a "weak" image when it comes to foreign affairs, according to the Examiner.

Russia is known to support the expanding Assad regime in Syria making it more difficult for the United States to defeat the Islamic State terrorist group creating a rift in the relationship between the two heads of nations. But during an interview with CBS, the issue was finally clarified.

During the interview on 60 minutes, Charlie Rose asked Putin if he thinks Obama is weak.

"I don't think so at all," Putin answered, according to The Hill. "You see, here's the thing. In any country - and in the United States I believe this happens even more often than in any other country - foreign political factors are used for domestic political battles."

"There is a presidential campaign coming up, so they're playing either the Russian card or something else."

The leading candidates of the GOP are not in favor of how Obama handles foreign policies and how global tensions are increasing at a fast pace.

On Monday, Sept. 28, there will be a chance that the two world leaders will meet at the annual diplomatic meeting in New York City.

"When we look at conflict, the president will certainly be focused on the situation in Syria and Iraq, and he'll be focused on the situation in Ukraine," Ben Rhodes, Deputy National Security Advisor for the White House said, according to the Hill.
