A U.S. veteran and member of the Oath Keeper organization has penned an open letter saying that he and an armed militia plan to "move across the country and arrest everyone involved with the Iran Nuke Deal," including President Barack Obama.

In the letter published on Sept. 21, Jon Ritzheimer, a 31-year-old former Marine from Arizona, said that he and a growing number of "patriots" will leave their homes on Oct. 10 and head to Michigan, where they plan to arrest Democratic Sen. Debbie Stabenow - who voted "yes" on the Iran deal - for treason under Article 3 Section 3 of the Constitution.

"We have chosen her as our first target due to our strong ties with the Michigan State Militia and their lax gun laws that will allow us to operate in a manner necessary for an operation like this," Ritzheimer wrote. He first attracted attention after organizing a "Draw Muhammad" cartoon contest at a Phoenix mosque in May, as HNGN previously reported.

After the armed militia detains Stabenow, Ritzheimer says that his group will continue to arrest everyone else involved with the Iran deal, "even the President who brokered this deal."

Ritzheimer continues: "America is still at war with terrorism and Iran is the leading sponsor of terrorism throughout the globe. I have been to war and I do not want to see bloodshed in our own country. We do not seek violence but we will be armed and ready to defend and uphold our oath to the constitution. There is no reason these people can't be held accountable and have their day in court. I have notified law enforcement about these intentions. We will be cooperating with them and try to keep this as smooth as possible so we don't have another 'Shot Heard Round The World' situation."

U.S. Capitol Police Capt. Kimberly Schneider told The Blaze that they are aware of the letter and are "working with local law enforcement in Michigan on the matter."

Jason Van Tatenhove, media director for Oath Keepers, told The Washington Times that Ritzheimer is "merely a new member of the Oath Keepers, having newly joined in July," and holds no leadership role in the organization.

Van Tatenhove added that the group has now suspended Ritzheimer "for his actions" and is "in the process of following our bylaws to kick him out entirely."

"We, in NO WAY condone his actions, and are in the process of putting out statements to our membership to inform them of such," he told the Times.
