Apple has finally rolled out its long due update for iMac desktop computers by adding Intel's newest fourth generation Haswell Processors, new graphics, next generation Wi-Fi and faster PCIe flash storage.

Apple has no plans to rest after the record-breaking success of not one but two of its iPhone devices over the weekend and grand opening of its iTunes Radio service. The Cupertino-based tech giant announced Tuesday that its popular all-in-one desktop lineup has been updated with the latest technology. For all its worth, Apple has introduced Intel's newest fourth generation quad-core Haswell processors and new graphics along with faster Wi-Fi and PCle-based flash storage.

Apple iMacs have waited long to get the latest update, but now the 21.5-inch entry-level iMac will feature 2.7 GHz quad-core Core i5 CPU and new Iris Pro graphics. The new Iris Pro graphics card is useful for extensive gaming compared to the previous iMac. The high-end 21.5-inch iMac and 27-inch models will feature the quad-core Core i5 processor to clock up to 3.4 GHz and include Nvidia's GeForce 700 graphics.

"iMac continues to be the example that proves how beautiful, fast and fun a desktop computer can be," Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, said in a press release. "Inside its ultra-thin aluminum enclosure, the new iMac has the latest Intel processors, faster graphics, next generation 802.11ac Wi-Fi and faster PCIe flash storage."

With the latest update, Apple also allows customers to choose to upgrade the 3.4 GHz Core i5 to a 3.5 GHz Core i7 for GeForce 780M graphics. The updated Wi-Fi offers 3 times more speed than the older versions and the new PCle flash storage offers 50 percent speed improvement.

Apple iMacs, known for their giant storage, still offer standard 8GB RAM and 1TB hard drive, but customers can upgrade up to 32GB Ram and up to 3TB hard drive.

The updated iMacs are on sale via Apple's official site and retail outlets, with a starting price of $1,299 for the 21-inch model, while the 27-inch iMac starts from $1,799.
