Nutella is a foodie staple anywhere in the world. It's smeared on bread and pancakes; it's added to ice cream or cakes, or eaten straight from the jar with a spoon. Originally produced by Italian company Ferrero, the product has been available in the market since 1964, according to Nutella USA.

However, all these years many people have been making the mistake of pronouncing "Nutella" improperly. A quick look at the USA website's FAQ's page states that Nutella is actually pronounced as "new-tell-uh," and not "nah-tell-uh."

Fans of this jar of happiness are in denial about the discovery and took to Twitter to air their complaints.

To appease Nutella lovers everywhere, the Ferrero issued this statement: "Ferrero [sic] aren't trying to encourage a common worldwide pronunciation on this. In the U.K. we call it and pronounce it 'Nutella' as do consumers. The U.S. pronunciation is just for them," according to Buzzfeed

This is not the first time fans of the chocolate food product panicked over Nutella. Back in April, rumors that the company was discontinuing the spread surfaced online, which turned out to be a hoax, according to Hoax-Slayer.
