The most crucial series remaining for the Toronto Blue Jays (85-64) and New York Yankees (82-66) will begin on Monday night at 7:07 p.m. ET when the two MLB clubs square off at the Rogers Centre. Toronto got the best of the Yankees last weekend in the Bronx, but New York is back on track after winning five of their last seven.

The only thing that won't be in New York's favor is that starter Masahiro Tanaka will miss the series against the Blue Jays due to strained hamstring. Tanaka was expected to pitch on Wednesday, but instead Ivan Nova will take the mound for that matchup.

Adam Warren will pitch for New York tonight in his second start since coming back into the rotation. The right-hander had the best ERA among the team's starters before he was moved back to the bullpen in favor of Ivan Nova, who at the time was making his return from Tommy John surgery.

Warren is 6-6 with a 3.33 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 92 strikeouts in 40 games (15 starts), totaling 119 innings this season. He's 5-5 with a 3.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 58 strikeouts as a starter.

While he'll have the potent Yankees offense behind him, he'll be tasked with facing Blue Jays' ace David Price, who is among the best in the MLB. The left-hander is 16-5 with a 2.42 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 212 strikeouts in 30 starts (208 1/3 innings) this season, and is 7-1 with a 2.17 ERA in nine starts with Toronto. He's expected to be the league's top free agent once the offseason hits.

But Price isn't worried about that. He's focused on winning with Toronto and he has a prime opportunity to do that as the Blue Jays look to extend their 2.5-game lead over New York tonight. Although the Blue Jays have dropped four out of their last seven, including two in a row against the Boston Red Sox, all bets are off when the Yankees come to town.

These two clubs have the best offenses in the MLB, but Price will look to take advantage of the Yankees once again. Since joining the Blue Jays he's 2-0 with a 2.33 ERA and 20 strikeouts in three starts against New York and he'll have a favorable matchup against Warren, who is making his first career start against the league's top offense.

Toronto will be without shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, but middle infielders Ryan Goins and Cliff Pennington have filled in nicely during his absence. New York hopes to build off their recent power surge, which helped them defeat the Mets over the weekend in the Subway Series.
