The New York Knicks start training camp in a little more than a week but they continue to make additions to their roster. DaJuan Summers is the latest player to reportedly get a training camp invite from the Knicks, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports, and he is the 19th player that will be in camp.

Summers is a 27 year old forward that stands at 6 foot-8. He was highly recruited out of high school before deciding to attend Georgetown where he had a solid three year career. Summers was selected 35th overall in the 2009 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons and since then has been all over the place including the New Orleans Hornets, Los Angeles Clippers, Italy and Spain.

For his NBA career Summers has played in 83 games and averaged 3.3 points over his four year career while shooting 37 percent from the three point line in just 9.9 minutes per game and will now have a chance to compete for a roster spot with the Knicks.

As it stands now the Knicks have 13 players who are on guaranteed contracts and Langston Galloway who is considered a lock to make the team despite not having a guaranteed contract so that leaves one spot open. Summers will be competing with Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Travis Trice, Darion Atkins and Wesley Saunders for that final roster spot. The Knicks have put a lot of time into developing Antetokounmpo so he may be the favorite for that last spot but Summers is the only player of those five that has any NBA experience.

The players that don't make that final roster spot will likely get a spot on the Knicks' D-League team after being cut late in training camp. Summers has played 29 games in the D-League to this point in his career and has averages of 18.0 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
