With "Survivor Cambodia: Second Chance" premiering in just a few days, fans can hardly wait to see what the 31st season has in store for us.

With 20 memorable contestants returning for their second chance at becoming the ultimate survivor, the producers knew they would have to make this season an extra special one. From new immunity twists, to a brutal climate, to evenly split tribes, the fight to win is bound to bring blood, sweat and tears, as usual.

A few weeks ago, we found out that the contestants would be split up into two tribes, Ta Keo, who would wear teal, and Bayon, who would wear hot pink. When Planet Buff released the official season 31 buffs for purchase on their website, fans became instantly confused as there was a third yellow buff for sale with the tribe name Angkor.

We've seen more than two tribes on previous seasons, but the reasoning for this year's third tribe was unknown and this led people to ask a ton of questions about it at the official press day, according to Inside Survivor.

People in attendance wanted to know if this was a merge, an outcast tribe, or a shuffled tribe. While a merge tribe seemed likely, the name of the tribe typically isn't printed on the merge buffs since the contestants pick the name themselves, so fans were able to rule this idea out.

Turns out, at some unknown point during season 31, the tribes will be shuffled and split into three separate tribes, creating confusion, new strategies and possible betrayals.

The original two tribes were split up pretty perfectly, as players with any history together were put on opposite tribes, according to Enstarz. The whole demographic and dynamic of the two tribes also seemed to be split evenly as each tribe had one of each when it came to categories like female villains, superfan strategists and laidback players.

Now, with this third tribe, it will be interesting to see how these castaways will get split up and what that will do for the game and any alliances already formed. "It definitely adds an interesting element to the game," Inside Survivor said. "And was likely used as a way to diminish the effect of pre-game alliances."
