Meet Elle: a pretty special and pretty adorable new baby gorilla born on Aug. 25 at the Cincinnati Zoo. Baby Elle is special as she is the 50th gorilla born to the zoo, according to Zoo Borns, and oh! what a doll baby, too!

Her naming was a community event and "Elle" was the winner. The letter L is the roman symbol for 50, with Elle being the feminine form, says Fox 19.  "Elle" won by a landslide over "Goldie," with two-thirds of the 2,500 votes.

"It is a very rare thing for any zoo to have 50 babies born and we wanted that to be recognized in the baby's name," said Ron Evans, curator of primates at the Cincinnati Zoo.

Elle is a western lowland gorilla whose 14-year-old mother, Anju welcomed her new baby with open arms and tended to her baby immediately, said officials at the Cincinnati Zoo. Elle is mommy Anju's first baby and she did fabulous.

Oh that face! I am sure you will agree with these pictures of this extra special little dumpling and the video, that Elle is indeed a special little girl.

No schedule is set yet as to when Elle and Anju will be available regularly for the public to see, but pictures and videos and updates are available through social media using #CZBGBabyGorilla.
