Alexander Hung Tran, 32, was arrested Saturday by Salt Lake City police for the fatal shooting of three people including a 2-month-old girl, according to FOX News.

Detective Dennis McGowan said police found the bodies on Friday around 6 p.m. while looking for the family of an Escalante Elementary School pupil, an 8-year-old boy whose family had not picked him up after school. When officers peeked in the window they spotted what looked like a body, covered in a blue tarp, and the back door open. They also found Tran inside the home with a gun.

They then made the discovery of 50-year-old Heike Poike, her 2-month-old granddaughter, Lyrik and Dakota Smith, 28, all shot, inside the home.

Poike had rented the upstairs portion of the home from Tran, for about six months while Tran lives in the basement apartment.

Detectives interviewed Tran in connection to the shooting deaths and "determined that he shot and killed all three individuals," said Salt Lake police detective Richard Chipping, according to the Daily Mail. Tran is facing three counts of aggravated murder.

The 8-year-old boy is OK and staying with other relatives.

Tran is being held on a $1.1 million dollar bond, according to Town Hall.
