We've seen Jaimie Alexander make memorable appearances in shows like "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," and "Kyle XY" as well as play Lady Sif in the "Thor" movie franchise, but the 31-year-old actress finally has a well-deserved starring role.

"Blindspot" is about a mystery woman, played by Alexander, who is found naked and covered in tattoos in Times Square with absolutely no memory of her past. The intricate tattoos explain her journey, and the mystery of her life eventually becomes the FBI's latest challenge as they try to "follow the road map on her body into a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity," according to NBC.

They're "piercing together her past, one tattoo at a time," the site reads.

With the show premiering September 21, Alexander is ready for the world to see her as this beautiful, tattoo-covered Jane Doe. Here are 5 things you need to know about the star of the new, and highly anticipated, show "Blindspot."

1. She wishes she could be covered in tattoos permanently

Her character has over 200 tattoos, which take three tattoo artists about seven hours to apply, according to Entertainment Weekly. Luckily for Alexander, they are drawn on with a stronger adhesive than your typical temporary tattoo, so they last for several days at a time. While things can get a little awkward during these seven hours, especially when a guy has to paint her chest and backside, she still wishes she could really have such intricate ink.

"I would wear them all the time if I could," she said. "If I wasn't an actress, I would have a [tattoo] sleeve."

2. She's a daredevil

As someone who became a natural as an actress in the action genre, she realized she would eventually be involved in some pretty dangerous scenes. She does as many of her own stunts as the law will allow, and even though they're just stunts, she does admit that she sometimes gets beaten up pretty badly, according to Fox. Luckily, she has a stunt double, Kylie Furneaux, who allows her to remain uninjured.

"There are no filler episodes," she said of the fast-paced action show. "There are lots of fight scenes, lots of human connection, and lots of figuring out pieces to a puzzle."

As for her fears, she doesn't have many. "If you put a snake around me, I'll just pick it up and swing it around," she told People before admitting the one thing that scares her most. "I have a major fear of airplanes, which doesn't make sense because I love helicopters and gliders and everything, but I don't like commercial airlines. I was in an almost near plane crash in 2012."

3. She's engaged to a "Twilight" star

She and Peter Facinelli met on the set of the romantic comedy drama "Loosies," which he wrote and produced, according to Celeb Buzz. At the time, he had been married to Jennie Garth, but the two got divorced in March 2012 after 11 years of marriage. He and Alexander started dating shortly after and got engaged this past March.

"We take things slow and we just enjoy each other," she told Fox on planning their wedding. "A piece of paper isn't going to change how much I love him and he loves me."

"We're just having fun, and we just take life in stride, and we're having fun being engaged and just enjoying life," she told People back in March. "We're both very busy people, and we want to make sure that when we get married, we actually have the right amount of time to spend with family and friends because it's gonna be such a fun celebration."

4. She was featured in Maxim

Back in 2011, Maxim named her one of their "Girls of Maxim," according to Celeb Buzz. For this photo shoot, Alexander posed for several photos in lacy underwear and was even topless in a few.

"Once she caught our eye on TV shows like 'Nurse Jackie,' 'Bones,' and 'It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia,' we guessed it would only be a matter of time before Jaimie Alexander made a splash on the big screen," Maxim wrote. "And lucky for us, she did as a beautiful Asgardian goddess in the epic blockbuster 'Thor.'"

5. She was a wrestler

Back in high school, she gave theater a try, but was kicked out of her class for not being able to sing. "The teacher thought my time was best spent somewhere else," she told Movie Line. "So I went into sports."

Her wrestling days most likely helped her develop her tough and fearless personality. When asked about her days as a high school wrestler, she couldn't help but laugh.

"Yeah, I was. I know, I don't know why I laugh now because back in the day I was like, 'Yeah, so?' But now it's like, kind of weird," she told Yahoo.

She did explain that she did train with guys and even wrestled two boys in matches, but they didn't count. "I won both matches," she admitted. "But I still, to this day, I don't really know, I mean it was hard, but I really don't know if I won because they gave up or if I won because I actually beat them. I'd like to think I actually beat them. But they were punks so they deserved it."
