Quincy Jones was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital for shortness of breath, but he was okay, his spokesman said, according to TMZ. The 83-year-old music legend fell ill at his home in Bel Air, Calif., where an ambulance was called around 1:20 p.m.

"Quincy is fine. He had some shortness of breath and in an abundance of caution he went in for observation. He is fine though," Jones' spokesman Arnold Robinson told the New York Daily News.

Jones took to his Twitter account after his release from the hospital to assure his fans that he was okay.

"Had a little shortness of breath, but all is good. Still much to do. God Bless," he wrote.

Over his career, Jones won 27 Grammy's and worked with artists such as Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles and Michael Jackson. Jones co-produced three of Jackson's legendary albums including "Off the Wall," "Bad" and "Thriller." He sued the King of Pop's estate and claimed he owed him millions of dollars in royalties.

Jones was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
