The "NBA 2K" series is one of the most popular video games on the market, and with people anticipating the release of the 2016 version, there has been talk about certain players ratings. LeBron James has been rated as the best player in the video game for the last several years and while many think he is still the best player in the game and should be rated the highest, it appears his reign on top may be coming to an end, according to Tomer Azarly of Cavs Nation.

In the 2015 version of the "NBA 2K" series, LeBron was given a 98 rating, which was by far the best with Kevin Durant the closest with a 95 rating. Nothing has been confirmed yet as to the ratings of these players for the 2016 version of the game, but it appears Stephen Curry might be taking over the mantle as the top rated player in the game.

Last year, Curry was rated as an 89 when the game first came out but with updated rosters, ratings and stats he finished the season with a 95 rating. A photo leaked of the some ratings for the 2016 game, and in this photo it is clearly seen that LeBron has a rating of 94 which is a four point drop from a year ago and would be lower than where Curry ended last season rated. Again, this is not confirmed, but the logic here does make sense unless the photo was altered at all.

Curry is one of three players on the cover of the new NBA 2K16 game along with Anthony Davis and James Harden, and both of the other players were reportedly given a 94 rating, according to Rachael Marifosque of Ecumenical News. Some people think because those other two players have a 94 rating that it only makes sense that the reigning MVP has a higher rating. Another train of thought is that there is a new philosophy in ratings that will cause a general drop among all players' ratings, which would put Curry on the same level as LeBron, Harden and Davis.

This leaked photo has sent fans of the video game into a frenzy over who will be the highest rated player when this game is released. The game officially hits stores on Sept. 29, so the wait will be over in less than two weeks to see if Curry has indeed taken over LeBron as the highest rated player in "NBA 2K16."
