On the heels of the San Francisco 49ers' loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Niners running back Frank Gore reportedly had "choice words" after the game for coach Jim Harbaugh.  As San Francisco falls to 1-2, linebacker Aldon Smith will be out indefinitely following his DUI arrest, ESPN reports.

San Francisco struggled in its 27-7 loss to Indianapolis.  The defense was unable to stop Colts running back Ahmad Bradshaw, and the offense couldn't get going.  Gore rushed 11 times for 82 yards, including only four carries in the second half.

The loss, along with his lack of carries, apparently didn't sit well with Gore.

"RB Frank Gore was angry at Jim Harbaugh at the end of the game.  For good reason.  He had only 4 touches in the second half," Kevin Lynch of the San Francisco Chronicle tweeted on Sunday.

Lynch added: "Just for clarity, RB Frank Gore had choice words for Jim Harbaugh near the end of the game, as Gore was heading out to the field."

It's uncertain why Harbaugh stopped feeding the football to Gore - it was a one-possession game until the fourth quarter.

The 49ers' struggles aren't helped by the indefinite absence of Smith, a key part of the team's pass rush.  Smith was arrested on Friday on suspicion of driving under the influence after his truck hit a tree.  After the game, it was announced the 23-year-old would voluntarily take a leave of absence from the team to seek treatment.

The timetable for Smith's return is unknown.  49ers CEO Jed York said the linebacker would miss Thursday's game against the St. Louis Rams and could possibly sit out longer, according to ESPN.

"First off, I wanted to apologize to the team, the organization, my family and everybody I let down," Smith said after the loss, via ESPN.  "I also wanted to let it be known that this is a problem and it's something I will get fixed, and that I'll do everything in my power to make sure that this never happens again."
