After seven seasons, NBC's reality show "American Ninja Warrior" finally had its first winner during the three-hour long season finale in Las Vegas. Until now, no one had been able to complete all of the stages of the show's obstacle course, but on Monday, two men made it past the third stage of the competition.

Geoff "Popeye" Britten, a 36-year-old sports cameraman by profession, became the first American ever to complete "American Ninja Warrior's" grueling stage 4 a.k.a. Mt. Midoriyama (a 75-foot rope climb) in 29.65 seconds. However, his victory was short-lived as rock climber Isaac Caldiero not only completed the tough rope climb, but also managed to beat Britten's time by 3 seconds (26.14 seconds), according to Hollywood Reporter.

The rules of the show state that the person who finishes the course and has the best time, wins the prize money. Thereby, Caldiero was crowned as the first winner of "American Ninja Warrior" and walked away with the $1 million prize money.

"Winning this event always seemed impossible," said Caldiero, according to Entertainment Weekly. "As the first American Ninja Warrior I want to use this opportunity to inspire the world to find your impossible and conquer it."
