Samsung SmartThings showcases SLEEPsense - a device that can analyze the heartbeat, movement and respiration of its user during sleep. The device can also be connected to various home electronics such as the curtains, coffee maker, TV and air conditioning system, to optimize the sleeping environment, according to the user's preference. It is placed under the bed and collects sleeping pattern data, which it presents in a points and graph system, Independent reports.

With the collected data, users can set the device to automatically inform the coffee maker to turn on as soon as it detects that the user is awake, or perhaps have the curtains automatically open.

SLEEPsense has a powerful processor and it also has a 10-hour battery backup, which allows it to continue monitoring even when power goes out or when Internet connection fails, Mashable reports.

The new hub is compatible with more than 200 products from different manufacturers like Bose, D-Link, Honeywell and Amazon Echo.

Samsung does not specifically introduce the gadget as part of its take on the "Internet of Things," but the interconnected features of the device make the idea omnipresent.

The company promotes SLEEPsense as a "simple tap" device, enabling gadgets to automatically react to the user's set preference.

The SmartThings kit, including the hub and the outlet, is available online for $99, while additional sensors will cost between $30 and $35 each, according to Forex Report Daily.
