Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett absolutely burst onto the scene during his initial collegiate season. During the 2014 Aggie campaign, Garrett amassed 11.5 sacks, which is an impressive total for a departing junior or senior, let alone an Aggie freshman. Even more impressive, Garrett managed the eye-popping total while lining up across from some of the nation's best offensive tackles. He's a pure edge rusher with elite burst and a strong inside move. While it's already safe to say Garrett has broken out, what can A&M fans fairly expect from their devastating edge defender, set to enter his sophomore year in College Station? According to at least one NFL scout, even more, thanks in large part to the offseason arrival of defensive coordinator John Chavis.

"Myles Garrett might be the most dominant defensive player I will watch all year," the NFC scout said, via NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein. "Hell, I could coach him into 15 sacks but Chavis is going to really help him out by making sure that the guys around him are better football players."

Per Zierlein, the scout believes that Chavis will help Garrett improve on his gaudy freshman totals by helping the players around him find more consistency to their game, which would be a scary proposition for the teams on A&M's schedule as Garrett is a player some, including Zierlein, have already begun comparing to another former Aggie - Denver Broncos stud pass rusher Von Miller.

"Garrett might already be the best pure edge rusher in the country thanks to his upfield burst and destructive inside move," Zierlein wrote of Garrett in June. "Garrett has cat-quick change of direction to keep him in more plays than the norm and he's surprisingly difficult to redirect once he starts to turn the corner in his pass rush."

Considering Chavis has in the past found great success with elite pass rushers like Barkevious Mingo in the past it's likely he'll be able to get the most out of Garrett. And considering Garrett opened his 2015 season with an eight tackle, three sack, one forced fumble performance against formerly 15th ranked Arizona State, as A&M romped to an upset victory, it's certainly looking like Chavis' addition is working wonders for Garrett and the Aggies.
