The Cleveland Cavaliers, despite still not having reached a resolution with Tristan Thompson, are looking to add more depth to their roster for training camp as competition. They have already announced that their second round pick Sir Dominic Pointer won't even be in camp and will instead go straight to the D-League and now it is being reported that former Duke Blue Devil, Quinn Cook, will likely join the Cavs in training camp, according to Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.

There were reports about a month ago that Cook and the Cavaliers had reached an agreement to get him into training camp but this new report says that an agreement has not been reached and they are still finalizing the details. Despite the deal not being finalized Cook is fully expected to come to a deal and be in camp with the Cavs.

Cook went unselected in the 2015 NBA Draft after a solid four year career at Duke University and played for the Cavaliers summer league team where he played well enough to earn himself a camp invite. The 6 foot-2 guard averaged 10.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 4.2 assists during the summer league.

Cook is a 22 year old point guard that had a very good career a Duke where he improved every year. Cook is very good at running the show from the point guard spot but also has a knock down jump shot and is able to finish in traffic. Cook isn't a great athlete but he makes up for that with his very high basketball IQ.

Cook's chances of making the Cavaliers opening night roster are slim-to-none as the Cavaliers have a deep team and intend to compete for a championship but if Cook does well in training camp he could join their D-League affiliate and work his way up.

In his senior season at Duke Cook was a key player and the leader of the team that won the National Championship. In 39 games Cook averaged a career high 15.3 points per game while shooting career high percentages from the field (45 percent) from three (40 percent) and from the free throw line (89 percent.) Cook won't wow you with his natural talent but he will do everything he possibly can to help the team win.
