Paula Patton is cool as a cucumber when it comes to the controversy surrounding Miley Cyrus twerking on her husband Robin Thicke. The 20-year-old singer faced an enormous amount of backlash after her VMA performance with the "Blurred Lines" singer. A lot of people thought it was inappropriate and tasteless for her to grind and twerk on the married man. Add in some lewd gestures with a giant foam hand and tongue wagging and the general public was outraged.

Everyone has been weighing in on her performance and finally Patton spoke out on the performance telling Andy Cohen on "Watch What Happens Live" that she didn't see what the big deal was.

"I wasn't surprised at all," she said. "Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don't know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your... all my friends do it like that. And I don't really know what the big deal is."

She said she was shocked by all negative reactions and was a little confused by what people expected Cyrus to do.

"I didn't know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys. Her song's about taking molly!" she said.

The following day she appeared on the "Today" show and talked about the performance again saying "I don't know if you guys been to a club lately, but that's how girls dance at the club," she said.

"My friends dance with [Robin] like that," she added. "It's just what they do."

To drive her point home Patton got up and twerked on Al Rocker.

"Your wife's not going to get mad at you is she?" she joked.

Patton and Thicke have been married for eight years and she told Rocker that the success to their marriage was "love and not being too uptight," US Weekly reports.

Do you think Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke's VMA performace was acceptable?
