IT'S OFFICIAL!  Kate Moss will pose naked in honor of Playboy magazine's 60th anniversary as the January/February double issue cover-girl.

Playboy's editorial director, Jimmy Jellinek, confirmed to the Los Angeles times the 39-year-old supermodel is going to show off her goodies to the world. (Not that she hasn't pose nude before.  If you followed her career, you know what I'm talking about.)

"This is a massive global brand," Jellinek said. "You need a global icon in order to celebrate that - that was the impetus. You're talking about the face of Burberry, the biggest supermodel in the world on the cover of Playboy. She's the perfect partner for us to help launch the next 60 years."

Moss also has the stamp of approval from Playboy's founder, Hugh Hefner.

"She's a worldwide celebrity and iconic and crosses the boundaries from sexual imagery to upscale modeling," Hefner told the LA Times.  "It's a natural for us."

The pictorial was shot by Marcus Pigott and Mert Atlas for the a "newly upscale" playboy.

Moss is not the only supermodel who's bared their breasts for art, fashion or a men's magazine.  Model such as Elle MacPherson, Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer have been on the cover on Playboy.

"This creates a heat for the brand globally," Jellinek said. "It started with Marilyn Monroe on the cover of Playboy 60 years ago, an icon for her time. Now we've got Kate Moss!"

According to the LA Times, her photo shoot will be a flash from the past, showcasing the magazine's best looks over the years:

"Though she was closely associated with the 'heroin chic' look in the '90s and initially pilloried in the tabloids as a 'waif model' thanks to her androgynous body and gamine look, the model switched into full-on sex kitten mode for Playboy, glamming it up in General Issue Playmate attire: velveteen bunny ears, French cuffs, silk stockings and a come-hither smile."
