Bernie Sanders is ahead of Hillary Clinton in the New Hampshire polls, according to The Washington Post. It's just one poll of voters in one state, but Sanders and his campaign are clearly picking up steam there and possibly around the country.

Sen. Sanders (I-Vt.) is leading Democratic frontrunner Clinton in the NBC-Marist poll in New Hampshire. This is the third time Sanders has polled ahead of Clinton. New polling data shows that he is leading her by double digits there, polling at 48 percent to her 37. The poll also included Vice President Joe Biden, who has not declared that he will run for the presidency officially or otherwise.

Sanders spent Labor Day weekend on the picket lines and on the campaign trail. He joined striking workers at Penford Products in Iowa over the holiday, according to The Guardian. Sanders may be actively courting union endorsement. So far, Clinton has received union backing from two large groups of workers. Sanders has been endorsed by only one large union.

Both Sanders and Clinton held town hall meetings over the holiday weekend, according to The New York Times. As of Labor Day, there are six candidates currently campaigning to win the Democratic primary election that will be held in 2016.
