Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has the opportunity to win his third Champions League title, and his second with Chelsea.

"It's normal if you win it once, you dream to win it twice," Mourinho told BBC.  "That happened to me and when I did it for the second time, I dreamed of winning it for the third time."

As for Wednesday, Mourinho stressed the importance of his squad winning its opening group stage match.

"I want to start the group phase by winning because last season Chelsea went outside its natural habitat of the Champions League and went out into a competition which isn't a Chelsea competition and we don't want to do that again," he said.

Basel, the reigning Swiss league champions, has played well this season and could prove an obstacle to Mourinho's dream of a third title.  The last time these two teams met, according to IB Times, Basel came close to defeating Chelsea in the Europa League last season.

Chelsea will be without Ramires (suspended) and Michael Essien (ineligible), according to SB Nation.  Basel has no injuries listed.

Projected Lineups (via SB Nation):

Chelsea: Petr Cech; Ashley Cole, David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Branislav Ivanovic; John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard; Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Oscar; Fernando Torres.

Basel: Yann Sommer; Behrang Safari, Fabian Schar, Ivan Ivanov, Philipp Degen; Stephan Andrist, Fabian Frei, Mohamed Elneny, Mohamed Salah; Valentin Stocker; Marco Streller.
