A man was stabbed and robbed for his copy of Grand Theft Auto V barely two hours after buying the game. Three teenagers have been arrested for the assault.

Grand Theft Auto V is touted to be the most expensive game ever and is already creating a lot of crimes. Obsessive gamers are ready to go to any lengths to get their hands on a copy of the game first. As the price of the newly launched GTA 5 is too expensive, how far are gamers willing to go to own it? Well! It seems like some of them are willing to kill for it.

Three teenagers were arrested for stabbing and robbing a 23-year-old man Monday for his copy of the violent video game. The victim (name not revealed) was returning home from a mid-night launch event and was attacked less than two hours after buying the game. He was returning from an Asda store in North West London just an hour and 20 minutes after the game went on sale when he was hit with a brick, stabbed and robbed of his cell phone and his copy of the game.

Detectives are questioning the arrested and say the motive behind the attack is yet to be revealed.

The GTA V is one of the most anticipated games and is expected to break all its previous records. Analysts predict that it could sell as many as 25 million copies in its first year and generate 1 billion Euros for the game developer, Rockstar.

Rockstar Games reportedly spent $265 million for the development and the marketing of the game, Bloomberg reports. The development cost alone could be compared with some of the most expensive Hollywood films like Avatar in 3D.

The game launch has been so highly anticipated that in a survey of 11,000 gamers, nearly half of them had booked the day as a holiday, according to IGN.com.

The franchise has sold more than 135 million copies worldwide since its debut in 1997.
