Brad Guzan will be the U.S. Men's National Team starting goalkeeper in the upcoming International Friendlies, according to Fox Sports and coach Jurgen Klinsmann. Even though veteran goalkeeper Tim Howard is back in camp, Guzan remains the starter, larger because of his role for the USMNT during the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

"Tim has accepted for the time being to be the No. 2, and then down the road there will be a fight for the No. 1 spot like in every position," Klinsmann said last month. "He accepted that, and we are really happy to have him back on board because of who he is and what he has done for us."

Howard is content with not starting right away, especially since he and Guzan are such good friends, according to MLSSoccer.com

"I've been in competition with Brad for the last eight or nine years. He and I are good friends, everyone knows that, but for me nothing changes," he continued. "It's no problem. This is where everyone wants to be."

With Guzan in goal for the upcoming friendlies against Peru and Brazil, Klinsmann can properly assess if he has improved his craft since the USMNT disappointing exit from the Gold Cup this past summer. If Guzan fails to impress, Howard's name is certainly going to be called by Klinsmann.
