Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco collected his second straight Etihad Player of the Month award today, according to MLSSoccer.com. This award goes into a long list of awards already handed out to Giovinco during his time in MLS.

Since transferring from Serie A side Juventus, Giovinco has taken MLS by storm. The "Atomic Ant" as he is now being called by MLS media, has 17 goals and 13 assists over 25 games. His attacking play is the sole reason Toronto FC sit in a playoff spot and look to break their playoff-less streak this season.

Since coming into the league, Giovinco has turned doubters of his playmaking skills down and silence multiple rumors of his loss of skill. Even back in July, according to Bleacher Report, Giovinco was not considered the best player in MLS. At that time, he was looking hot, but not to the point of where he is now.

The only downfall for the Italian International is a recent injury he picked up in TFC's last match against the Montreal Impact. Reports indicate that Giovinco has an Abductor Injury, thus keeping him from fulfilling his national team duties this coming weekend. If Gio recovers quickly, the Reds of TFC can pose a solid threat in the Eastern Conference Playoffs and just maybe challenge for an MLS Cup title.
