Coming off the success of its Lumia 925 and Lumia 1020, Finnish smartphone maker Nokia has sent out invitations for a press event on Oct. 22 where it is expected to unveil the Lumia 1520 phablet.

The company posted a "Save the Date" tweet on its official Twitter page on Tuesday announcing that it will be holding a press event in late October. It then hashtagged the tweet with "Innovation reinvented."

According to the Inquirer, Nokia was only able to confirm that the event is real but would give no details as to what it will cover or where it will be located. However, thanks to months of rumors circulating around the company's upcoming device, the Nokia Lumia 1520, fans can expect the upcoming event to be when the company decides to take the wrappings off of its first foray into the world of phablet smartphone devices in order to compete with Samsung's Galaxy Note III, which it recently unveiled at a flashy press event all its own.

According to the latest from the Nokia rumor mill, the new device is expected to come with a 6-inch screen display capable of supporting HD 1080p resolution. This has fueled speculation that smartphone will be the first to feature Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 GDR3 update. The update will reportedly feature a rotation lock and support for the HD 1080p screen on the mobile operating system.

Other features rumored for the phone include a quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and a 16MP Pureview camera. This device will also come in different colors, much like the Lumia 1020. As of right now there is no word on any expected price or release date for the product. However, it is very likely it will, at least, be unveiled at the Oct. 22 press event hosted by Nokia at an, as of yet, undisclosed location.
