Real Madrid shares Group B with FC Copenhagen, Juventus and Galatasaray.  Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti believes it's imperative for his team to win its opening group stage match in Instanbul.

"It is the most important competition, all of us want to win it and there is harmony among us," Ancelotti told Sky Sports.  "We have a team with a lot of quality but, despite that, we are playing in a stadium where the heated atmosphere puts a lot of pressure on you and helps the home team out.  It will be a very good test for the character of our team."

Madrid is boosted, especially in the long-term, with Cristiano Ronaldo agreeing to a new contract.

"In the world of the Madrid fan, Ronaldo's contract renewal is very good news because Real Madrid will be able to count on the most important player in the world for many years to come," Ancelotti said.  "But we still need to play well, to win games and to improve the quality of our game."

Real Madrid has several players unavailable, SBNation reports.  Xabi Alonso (foot), Raphael Varane (knee), Marcelo (thigh) and Fabio Coentrao are out with injuries.  Alvaro Arbeloa (knock) is in doubt.  Gareth Bale "may have to settle for a place on the bench while working towards full match fitness," SB Nation wrote on Tuesday.

For Galatasaray, all players are available - only Selcuk Inan and Hamit Altintop are in doubt.

Galatasaray: Fernando Muslera; Hakan Balta, Semih Kaya, Aurlien Chedjou, Emmanuel Eboue; Selcuk Inan, Felipe Melo; Nordin Amrabat, Wesley Sneijder, Bruma; Didier Drogba.
