Baron Davis has been out of the NBA for three years now and has moved on to a new career in the filmmaking industry. Davis has his own company called Verso Entertainment that produces films and has even been nominated for an Emmy Award but he still misses basketball. The 36 year old former point guard is now contemplating a return to the NBA for one more season, according to NBA.com.

Davis took over David Aldridge's Morning Tip blog and wrote about his journey since his retirement and his desire to play again. Davis last played for the New York Knicks back in the 2011-12 season when he suffered a severe knee injury during the playoffs and had to be carried off the floor. After that injury Davis thought for sure that his career was over and that it was time to move on to other ventures.

Davis has been involved in other ventures, namely the filmmaking, but he has been working out and improving his conditioning to the point that he feels he could play one more season in the NBA. Davis writes that he has been playing a lot of pickup basketball at the Drew and has been able to play entire games and performed well even against other NBA players.

Davis writes that he had his doubts when he first started playing again but he is now gaining more confidence in his body and feels that he has another level he can go to.

"I'm focused. My conditioning is getting better and I am getting stronger. Hey, I'm starting to look like them and walk and talk like them again. Hell, these dudes are getting up to play against me again. Challenging me. Pushing me. Talking trash. I kinda like this. Wait until I get to where I know I can get to the level I need; wait until I am around a team and can really lock in on tools and start to sharpen them with some structure around," writes Davis.

In his 12 year NBA career Davis had averages of 16.1 points and 7.2 assists per game while playing with six different teams. It is unlikely that a team will sign Davis to a contract as he has been out of the league for a while and even at the end of his career he was a major injury risk. Davis thinks he could be a backup point guard or a third string point guard that helps lead a younger team but it remains to be seen whether there are any teams willing to give him another shot.
