NFL running back Fred Jackson won't be out of work long, after being cut by the Buffalo Bills Monday. Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday morning that Jackson will be visiting the Seattle Seahawks to fill a role behind Marshawn Lynch. Rapoport said both sides are expecting to get the deal done.

Last season, with the Buffalo Bills, Jackson carried the ball 141 times and averaged 3.7 yards per carry. He had two touchdowns last season, but won't be expected to carry the ball in the red zone as Lynch will probably handle that. Jackson also had the lowest yard per carry average last season, and the opportunities created by Russell Wilson and Lynch will likely open holes for Jackson.

This will be a reunion for Jackson and Lynch as the two started their NFL careers together in Buffalo. They played three full seasons together and, according to Rapoport, Lynch is likely looking forward to playing together with him again.

The 2013 second round draft pick, Christine Michael, hasn't panned out the way the Seahawks organization had hoped. In two seasons with the team, Michael has 254 yards and no touchdowns. Rapoport reported that faith in Michael is close to running out.

Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times reported in early August that Michael showed up to camp in good shape. Condotta also reported that head coach Pete Carroll said, "Christine is having a terrific start to this camp now. He has returned in incredible shape." Maybe, since the start of camp, Carroll noticed a change.

The first two games of the preseason proved to be a struggle for Michael, averaging under 2.7 yards per carry in both games. His best game came this past week against the San Diego Chargers when he rushed seven times for 37 yards, but most of that came on a long 29-yard run. Carroll might be bringing in Jackson to motivate his second-round pick from 2013, but, in the end, he may just be doing it to solidify his backfield.
