Donald Trump has created incredible comedy fodder for all the hosts in late-night television this summer, but only Jimmy Fallon has managed to land the larger-than-life Republican presidential candidate for a guest appearance on "The Tonight Show."

The interview also marks Trump's return to NBC, which cut ties with the real estate tycoon earlier this year over his controversial remarks on immigration. NBC announced on Tuesday that he will sit down with Fallon to discuss his campaign and other issues on Friday, Sept. 11.

The late-night host has already welcomed GOP candidates Jeb Bush and Chris Christie during the early days of the campaign.

"The Tonight Show" will kick off its fall season on Sept. 8. The show will see the highly-anticipated return of frequent collaborator Justin Timberlake on Sept. 9. Ellen DeGeneres will also stop by that night with musical guest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, whose performance will be simulcast on a digital billboard in Times Square when it airs on NBC at 11:35 p.m.

Fallon will return the favor to DeGeneres, who rarely flies to New York for interviews, and appear on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Sept. 11 during the daytime show's premiere week.

Guests for the rest of the week include:

Sept. 8: Richard Gere, Jessica Simpson and musical guest Keith Urban

Sept. 9: Justin Timberlake, Ellen DeGeneres and musical guest Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Sept. 10: Andy Samberg, Carrie Underwood (also the musical guest)

Sept. 11: Donald Trump, Terrence Howard and Pharrell Williams

"The Tonight Show" airs on weeknights at 11:35 p.m. on NBC.
