The Boston Red Sox (60-70) and New York Yankees (72-57) are in two completely different situations, but that won't affect the rivalry heading into the final month of the 2015 MLB season.

Boston has been on a tear throughout the month of August and they'll host the Yankees on Monday at 7:00 p.m. ET in the final series between the two this year at Fenway Park. Left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez will take the mound for the Red Sox to face Yankees' right-hander Ivan Nova.

These two pitched against one another back in July.

New York is fresh off a dominant sweep of the Atlanta Braves, during which their offense scored 38 runs over the course of three games. That offensive awakening came after the team scored 38 over their previous 10 games. The Bronx Bombers will face Rodriguez for the third time this season tonight.

In two starts against the Yankees, Rodriguez is 1-1 with a 2.70 ERA. After an unbelievable start to his MLB career, the 22-year-old has been exposed at times, but is still not having a bad rookie season. He's 7-5 with a 4.39 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 69 strikeouts in 16 starts (92 1/3 innings).

As for Nova, the right-hander will go up against one of the hottest offenses in the MLB. Boston finished the month of August with 157 runs scored (third in the league) and a .295 batting average (first). Nova is coming off his worst start of the season against the Houston Astros, during which he surrendered seven earned runs on seven hits and four walks in just four innings.

Nova is 5-6 on the season with a 4.50 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 39 strikeouts in 11 starts (62 innings) in his first campaign since undergoing Tommy John surgery. He made a start against the Red Sox on July 11 and fell to Rodriguez after giving up four earned runs on eight hits in 6 2/3 innings. He'll be looking for redemption this time around as the Yankees are in the midst of a tight division race with the Toronto Blue Jays.

The Red Sox took two of three from the New York Mets over the weekend and hope to spoil the Yankees' season. However, New York is 5-1 at Fenway Park this year and their offense is trending upward.
