Earlier this year Caitlyn Jenner was involved in a fatal car accident that caused the death of one woman. Jenner could escape criminal prosecution for her role in the crash, but might not be so lucky on the civil front. Occupants of one of the cars involved in the crash plan to file a lawsuit against Jenner for $18.5 million, claiming her negligence caused the crash, according to TMZ.

In February, Jenner was driving down the Pacific Coast Highway in California at an unsafe speed when her Escalade hit another vehicle and caused a chain-reaction crash, which claimed the life of 69-year-old Kim Howe. Howe's Lexus was pushed into oncoming traffic and she was killed when her car was struck head-on by a Hummer. At the time of the accident, Jenner was hauling an off-road vehicle on a trailer when she steered to avoid cars slowing down due to traffic, reported the Associated Press.

Howe's stepchildren also filed a suit against Jenner, claiming they've suffered enormous damages from their stepmother's death.

The five passengers in the Hummer filed a lawsuit against Howe's estate for the same amount of money and allege the dead woman was also negligent during the collision, reported Gossip Cop.

Last week, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department recommended Jenner be charged with vehicular manslaughter. No charges have been brought against her yet.
