The New York Giants are typically a team that doesn't like to use just one running back throughout a season, so if you are fantasy football fan, it is usually wise to stay away from their backfield as a whole. This year is no different, as the playing time in the backfield is a major question mark and who gets touches where is also a mystery. Having said that, it seems as though the best bet to get touchdowns this year might be Andre Williams, as he is projected to get the most goal-line work, according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.

The Giants backfield consists of second year running back Williams, Rashad Jennings and newly signed Shane Vereen. Before training camp, the roles appeared clear cut and that was that Jennings would be the first and second down back, while Williams got the goal-line touches and Vereen was the third-down back that caught passes out of the backfield. A lot of those things still may hold true, but they aren't as set in stone as initially thought.

Williams has reportedly had a great camp and improved in a big way after a pretty good rookie season. Jennings dealt with injuries last season and was only able to play in 11 games and because of that, Williams led the team in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns. Williams finished the 2014 season with 721 rushing yards and seven rushing touchdowns.

The Giants see Williams as a more physical runner than Jennings at 5-foot-11 230 lbs, so they think he can be a lot more successful on the goal-line. The Giants likely want to groom Williams, who turns 23 years old on Friday, to be their every down back and that may happen sooner than anticipated, as he has reportedly made major strides this offseason.

Vereen is the one running back of the three that is unlikely to see goal-line carries, as he is more of a passing game back, but it is up in the air between Williams and Jennings. Williams profiles more as a goal-line back and with Jennings' lengthy injury history, he might be the best bet to get the touches when the Giants are on the goal line, but the Giants love Jennings and he will almost certainly be a factor.
