A gunman killed a reporter and videographer for a CBS affiliate in Virginia in a shooting during a live broadcast Wednesday morning, according to CBS News.

The two killed were identified by the station's general manager, Jeff Marks, as reporter Alison Parker, 24, and cameraman Adam Ward, 27.

The incident occurred at 6:45 a.m. at Bridgewater Plaza in Moneta, Va., according to Franklin County Sheriff's Department spokesperson Phillip Young, reported Fox News. While Parker was conducting an interview, multiple shots rang out and several screams could be heard. As the camera fell to the ground, a blurry image, which is believed to be the gunman, came into view as he fled.

WDBJ tweeted about the incident earlier Wednesday morning:

Police are investigating and still looking for the suspect, according to CBS' Roanoke affiliate WDBJ-TV.

Bedford County schools are on lockdown as cops search for the shooter. The Virginia Department of Transportation has reported a high-priority situation and notes the closing of both north and south lanes of Route 122 in the area.
