Amazon announced on Tuesday that it will launch its new Prime Now service in the company's hometown of Seattle, according to Fortune. And for the first time, the company is adding alcohol to its list of eligible products.

The Prime Now service is a one-hour delivery service that has been in the works for weeks, according to Geek Wire. The distribution hubs for this one-hour service by Amazon are located in downtown Seattle and Kirkland, Wash.

Included in the alcohol selection are beer, wine, whiskey, vodka, rum and other hard liquors, according to Geek Wire. They are available for one- or two-hour deliveries.

The new Prime Now service is available seven days a week, from 8 a.m. until midnight, according to King 5. To become eligible, customers must download the Prime Now app. The cost is free for two-hour deliveries. For one-hour deliveries, the cost is $7.99.

The program is available to members of the Amazon Prime program, but the assortment of choices is much more limited for the one- or two-hour deliveries, according to Fortune.

Seattle is now the 10th city where Prime Now is in use, and it's the first city on the West Coast to see the launch of this speedy service, according to Geek Wire.
