The total number of suicides related to the hacking of the cheating website Ashley Madison has risen to three. The first two clients who took their own lives were in Canada, as previously reported by HNGN, and the third person is from the United States, according to the New York Daily News.

San Antonio police captain Michael Gorhum, 25, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Thursday. It has not been confirmed that he killed himself because of the Ashley Madison hack, but his official work email address was connected to the website.

The information hackers leaked about Ashley Madison clients included users' email addresses, phone numbers, payment information and sexual desires.

Joseph PT Reilly, a colleague of Gorhum wrote on Facebook: "Rest in peace Captain Mike Gorhum. You truly are one of the guys I have respected in my Law Enforcement career. No task too big, No goal too lofty."

Avid Life Media, the company behind Ashley Madison, is offering a $500,000 reward to anyone who can provide information on the persons responsible for the leak of the website's database, reported the Daily Mail.

Ashley Madison, a website helping people find extra-marital partners, was attacked by a group of hackers known as The Impact Team. Over 37 million names and personal information have been leaked.
