President Barack Obama and former President Bill Clinton played a game of golf over the weekend on the Massachusetts island of Martha's Vineyard. Obama was on his annual summer vacation when Clinton joined him at the Farm Neck Country Club.

Clinton was not the only important politician that joined the president in the game of golf. Obama also had former U.S. Trade Representative Mark Kirk and Clinton confidante Vernon Jordan along for the day. The game appeared to be going well for all involved and, at one particular hole, first Jordan, then Obama and finally Clinton all successfully putted, reported People.

This game of golf was a huge contrast to the once-tense relationship Obama and Clinton shared, according to the Huffington Post. The source of the politicians' issues stemmed from the 2008 Democratic presidential primary race when Obama beat Clinton's wife for their party's nomination. The relationship was eventually fixed, and Clinton even campaigned for Obama during his re-election campaign in 2012.

Obama golfed almost every day of his week on the island so far — a habit that, in the past, has gotten him heat from political opponents. Clinton recently defended the need for leaders of the free world, like him and Obama, to have a way to relax, reported ABC News. "One of the reasons I think presidents like golf is that it takes too much time. And you cannot think about anything else," said Clinton in January. "Every mind needs some release. So I think it's a good thing."

Later in the evening, the men were joined by their families, including Hillary Clinton, to celebrate Jordan's 80th birthday.
