So it’s been two weeks since we were last in the newsroom (sort of) and everyone’s still trying to get fired.

Charlie (Sam Waterston) and Will (Jeff Daniels) want it so bad that they’re going to Reese (Chris Messina) for help—who they totally despise.

Mac (Emily Mortimer) wants to be fired as well and only Will can do it.

Unfortunately only one of them gets their wish.

The majority of the episode is spent covering election night in America. The election panel includes Sloane (Olivia Munn), Elliot (David Harbour), Will and Taylor (Constance Zimmer) as the Republican strategist.

THE FUNNIEST PART OF THE NIGHT:

Will and Taylor begin to have an argument about the liberal media. Taylor mentions how Will says he’s a Republican but constantly attacks Republicans on his news show. In a valiant effort to come to his aid, Sloane points out, "In fairness he did anchor a report on a Democratic president committing war crimes that weren't true." (Nice, Sloane.)

TWO POTENTIALLY HUGE PROBLEMS

The last thing ACN can afford is a huge screw-up, or any screw up for that matter. Unfortunately Jim (John Gallagher Jr.) makes one when he mistakes MI for being Mississippi instead of Michigan and the network calls Michigan too early. Jim tries to cover it up—let’s hope he succeeded.

Jerry Dantana (Hamish Linklater) has filed a seperate lawsuit against Don (Thomas Sadoski). Apparently when another job offer requested a reference from Don, he called Dantana a “sociopath”—for which you can definitely sue someone. Oh and the lawsuit’s for $20 million dollars. Rebecca Halliday's (Marcia Gay Harden) solution: Take out a second mortgage and settle for a couple hundred thousand.

THE CLOSE:

Will tells Mac she’s fired at the end of the segment, but she can’t tell anyone

ACN gets a tip about David Petraeus’ affair

Will, who had previously told Taylor to keep his personal politics out of the segment changes his mind, and tells her to go at him personally with all she’s got.
