A man entered a restricted area at Cedar Point amusement park in Ohio on Thursday, looking for his cellphone. He was than struck and killed by an operating roller coaster, according to the Associated Press.

James A. Young was struck by the Raptor coaster as it made its 57-mph ride around the track, according to the AP.

Young was 45, according to CNN.

"Park safety officials responded immediately to the situation. Unfortunately, the guest has passed away," Cedar Point spokesman Bryan Edwards said, according to CNN.

There were no other injuries in connection with the incident, according to CNN.

Young was a teacher on his last trip before the school year, when he was to start working as a new guidance counselor, according to the Washington Post.

"That was one of his favorite places to go," Brenda Young, the victim's mother, told reporters, according to the Post. "He went there every summer with his friends. It was a fun time for him. Just a little break before school started in a couple weeks."

The rollercoaster has seen a few accidents over the years, from fainting to broken legs. But this is the first fatal accident in connection with the ride, according to the Washington Post.

After the incident, the Raptor closed. The park itself remains open, according to the Washington Post.
