Ivan L. Moody, frontman for the metal band Five Finger Death Punch, is being accused of domestic violence in divorce papers filed by his wife Holly Smith, TMZ reported. Smith allegedly claimed she was beaten and choked by Moody after a dispute in the couple's Las Vegas hotel room.

Smith reportedly confronted Moody and accused him of cheating when she found text messages on his phone from other women, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. After the argument, Smith fell asleep and woke up to her husband allegedly holding her in a Jiu-Jitsu submission hold with his arm around her neck.

Moody allegedly continued to punch and choke Smith with a blanket, and he was later arrested for domestic violence. Charges were later dropped.

Smith claimed in the divorce papers that there were multiple instances of domestic abuse in the couple's past and she asked for spousal support in the split. Moody reportedly brings in $66,000 a month with Five Finger Death Punch.

Moody's younger sister Sandra Dykes allegedly filed for restraining orders against him as well, according to another report by TMZ. Dykes reportedly claimed that Moody is also aggressive towards her and their mother.

Zoltan Bathory, Five Finger Death Punch's guitarist, defended his bandmate on Twitter, disputing the allegations against Moody and saying that Moody isn't married and doesn't even know Jiu-Jitsu, heavy metal music site Loudwire reported. .
