A Lowe's delivery driver in Virgnia was replaced with a different driver after a customer said that she didn't want a black person at her home.

Marcus Bradley, who is black, was on a routine delivery in Danville on Aug. 3 when his manager called to let him know he couldn't make the drop-off.

"I got a phone call on the phone telling me to bring the delivery back, saying that I couldn't do the delivery," Bradley told Fox's Alabama affiliate Fox 10. "I asked him why I couldn't do it, and he said because you're black, and they don't want you at the house."

The customer allegedly told the manager that she didn't want a black person delivering her order. So upon hearing this news, Bradley and his fellow co-worker, Alex Brooks, who was in the truck with him, returned to the store where Bradley was replaced with a white driver.

"To me, it just ain't right for a business that we work at to go on with the woman's wishes,"  Brooks said.

Brooks, who is white, was shocked by the decision and allegedly refused to complete the delivery without Bradley, according to The Washington Post.

"It was one of those things like, 'These guys will get over it,'" Brooks said. "They're tough guys, they're delivery guys and that's kind of where I just had to put my foot down and say I couldn't do it with them."

Lowe's decision came as a shock to Bradley as well, who didn't expect his employer to go along with the customer's demand.

"I mean, I thought that Lowe's would take up for me," he told ABC's Virginia affiliate ABC 13.

The woman who reportedly demanded that no black delivery drivers be sent to her home told reporters that it's within her rights to request what she wants.

"I got a right to have whatever I want and that's it," the woman said. "No, I don't feel bad about nothing."

Although upset by the way the situation was handled, Bradley insists that he won't be missing any time at work.

"I mean, I gotta work," he said. "I'm going to keep going to work like I've always done. But I would think Lowe's would take it into consideration to think about what they're doing next time."

Lowe's corporate office revealed in a statement that the manager who pulled Bradley from the delivery was fired, saying that a discriminatory request should never be honored because it's inconsistent with the company's values.
