The Indianapolis Colts are expected to take the next step as a franchise this year and make it to the Super Bowl. This lofty expectation is largely due to the immense progress quarterback Andrew Luck has made in his short career.

Luck broke Peyton Manning's franchise record for most passing yards in a single season (4,761) and led the NFL in touchdown passes (40) last year. Unfortunately, the Colts came up a few plays short of the Super Bowl. But even if Indy doesn't make the big game in 2015, Luck is poised for a monster season with the additions of Andre Johnson, Frank Gore and Phillip Dorsett to go along with T.Y. Hilton, Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen. In fact, Luck is one of the favorites to win the MVP award.

According to Bovada, Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is the favorite to win the award with 5/1 odds. Luck sits right behind him at 7/1. After those two All-Pros, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson (12/1), Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt (12/1), and Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning (16/1) round out the top five.

Luck, entering just his fourth season in the league, is already in the upper-echelon of quarterbacks. His value is apparent in the three straight post-seasons the Colts have played in after finishing an NFL-worst 2-14 before the 2012 draft. The Colts may have some serious questions on defense, but with Luck healthy and under-center this team is a consistent contender. He finished second in pass attempts (616) last season and ninth in average yards at the catch (7.73).

ESPN's fantasy football experts project Luck to throw for 4,485 yards with 36 touchdowns and 16 interceptions while completing 62 percent of his passes and rushing for 268 yards and two more scores in 2015.
