Two pilots of an AirBaltic Boeing 737 plane were suspected of "alcohol abuse" shortly before their flight was due to take off, according to NBC News. The pilots were later arrested.

The flight, which was going from Norway to Oslo, was scheduled to fly 109 passengers on Saturday, according to NBC News.

The flight was denied permission to take off, passengers reportedly tipping off police that the flight crew, including the two pilots, may have been under the influence of alcohol, according to the Daily Mail. The flight was delayed for five hours while the airline located a sober staff.

Upon checking the flight crew, police found that four out of the five flight crew members, including both pilots, had blood alcohol levels above 0.2 percent, according to the Daily Mail.

Janis Vanagds, an AirBaltic spokesman, gave a statement after the incident, saying that the airline has a "zero tolerance" policy when it comes to alcohol consumption, according to LSM.

He went on to say, "There has been an initial test and that is being followed up with more detailed tests. When we have the results we will take appropriate action. I apologize to all customers who have been affected by this incident," according to LSM.
