Lionsgate has announced a partnership with Starbreeze for a virtual reality game based on the Keanu Reeves movie "John Wick." The game, a first-person shooter, will be based on the world and characters from the action movie, Game Spot reported.

"John Wick is the perfect cross-platform property to extend into the fast-growing gaming world, and we believe that a cutting edge VR game will deepen fan engagement and accelerate John Wick's evolution into one of our next big action franchises," Lionsgate executive Peter Levin said in a statement released on the Starbreeze website.

All the involved studios from Hollywood and the gaming industry believe that virtual reality will soon be the next big video game platform, mainly targeting the HTC Vive VR platform, which is based on the Steam VR platform, for the "John Wick" VR game, VentureBeat reported.

HTC will demo this game during its upcoming World Tour, where they'll drive trucks around North America and Europe to let people try their new VR platform, according to Business Insider.

A "John Wick" sequel is currently being worked on, set for a September premiere. The VR game made after Keanu Reeves' movie will surely promote the films, the franchise, and even the different virtual reality platforms, including HTC's Vive.
