Tesla Motors posted a video on its Twitter Thursday of a charger resembling a "solid metal snake" that can automatically plug itself into an electric vehicle.

No human effort was required throughout the entire charging process. Tesla CEO Elon Musk first announced this project in December, which is currently designed for the Model S electric sedan.

"It automatically moves out from the wall and connects like a solid metal snake. For realz," Musk tweeted, according to the Daily Mail.

The "snakebot" can be seen in the video slithering until it finds its way into the car port, cue for the metal snake to start the charging process.

There is no word as to when the snake charger will be available for Model S owners, or on how much it would cost.

Tesla also revealed on Wednesday that it would begin deliveries of its Model X SUV next month, ABC News reported. In an earnings statement reported on Wednesday, the company said it plans to produce just over 12,000 vehicles in its third quarter, a 60 percent increase from one year ago, with a small number of those including Model X deliveries.
