The Washington Redskins will be without a couple of key contributors as they look to right the wrongs of an abysmal 2014 season. DeSean Jackson and DeAngelo Hall both suffered injuries at Redskins training camp this week and are expected to miss time, according to Dianna Marie Russini of ESPN. Jackson separated his shoulder and will be out "a few weeks" and Hall injured his groin and will be out "at least a week," according to Russini.

While there's no denying Jackson's talent - he managed 56 receptions and 1,169 yards last year despite playing with an array of quarterbacks including Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins and Colt McCoy, none of whom will be mistaken for All Pro's anytime soon - he's also diminutive in stature and has dealt with plenty of small injury concerns over his NFL career. His loss, even at this early juncture, is crushing for a Redskins offense hoping to prop up Griffin and find their way back to some semblance of relevancy and competitiveness under head coach Jay Gruden.

Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk first reported that Jackson suffered the injury while facing off with a blocking sled. It happened at the Redskins joint practice with the Houston Texans. Pierre Garcon and recent draft pick Jamison Crowder are likely to see even more work with Jackson sidelined for the foreseeable future.

As for Hall, he missed all but three games last year after an Achilles injury. The groin injury likely came as a result of his rehab and work to get back on the field.

Considering how atrocious the Redskins secondary was last year - they allowed the most passing touchdowns in the league - his loss would be nearly catastrophic. He's not currently in line to start, but he's likely to play an important back-up and leadership role.
