Pierce Brosnan was stopped at a security checkpoint at Vermont's Burlington International Airport because of a knife he was carrying in his hand baggage, according to police. Burlington Police Department Lt. Shawn Burke said airport officials informed him about the former James Bond actor's incident with Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents. He said Brosnan "was encountered by TSA at one of their checkpoints" and was permitted to continue his journey once the issue was resolved, according to The Associated Press.

Brosnan, 62, was making his way through the airport's security checkpoint to board a flight to Detroit, when security officials spotted a strange object in the actor's carry-on luggage. On further inspection, A TSA officer reportedly found a 10-inch hunting knife, which, according to flight regulations, should have been placed in his checked luggage, The Huffington Post reported.

Brosnan was then detained and taken to a separate room for questioning and emerged "a short time later." He was then asked to walk past the scanners again, following which he was allowed to proceed. The "GoldenEye" and "Die Another Day" actor was reportedly left angry and embarrassed after his blade was seized by authorities, according to The Telegraph.
