Showtime has found a new leading lady for Cameron Crowe's new comedy pilot "Roadies." "Wayward Pines" star Carla Gugino is replacing "Mad Men" actress Christina Hendricks, according to Variety. The hour-long comedy follows the day-to-day life of a successful rock tour as seen through the eyes of the crew members that are responsible for the show on the road.

Gugino takes over the portrayal of Shelli, a role that is being completely re-conceived with producers opting to recast after the character was revamped, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The decision to redevelop the role is a creative decision and not based on Hendricks' performance, reports Entertainment Weekly. The actress and Crowe look forward to working together again in the future, just not on this project.

Gugino's character Shelli is described as the band's production manager, a world-class multitasker, passionate music fan and tireless work partner to the band's tour manager Bill, who is played by Luke Wilson. The series also stars Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Peter Cambor and Colson Baker, also known as rapper Machine Gun Kelly or MGK.

Crowe won the best original screenplay Academy Award for the critically acclaimed rock drama "Almost Famous" and is writing and directing the pilot. J.J. Abrams is on board to executive produce the comedy.
