One of the most exciting takeaways so far at Gamescom 2015 is the announcement of "Quantum Break," a new third-person shooter for the Xbox console from game developer Remedy Entertainment.

Microsoft announced that the game will be released in April 5, 2016. Meanwhile, a gameplay trailer was unveiled, and the crowd in attendance was appropriately impressed.

What is quite notable about this particular release is that it is both a game and a live-action show wherein actors were commissioned to perform several scenes that serve as transitions between gameplay segments. These elements should already assure gamers of a well-thought story line that will guarantee an engaging gaming experience.

The main character is Jack Joyce, who acquires the ability to stop time and cause what the Inquisitr called as "time explosions," helping him investigate the mystery of his brother's disappearance. This story concept called for a different visual take on the usual shooter action game genre usually typified by spectacular explosions, shootouts and bloodshed. Here, there is the pervasive attempt at capturing time as a tangible force.

"Joyce's ability to slow down time enables him to flank enemies and take out several targets without leaving himself open to danger," Digital Trends noted. Joyce, himself, says, "the number one killer is time," in one of the scenes' narration. The developers were able to achieve an impressive interpretation of time as a weapon and its state of perpetual disintegration. It is truly ambitious and the trailer should show why fans are already eagerly awaiting their turn to play.

The live-shows part of the game also generated interest because of the big-name actors, such as John Ashmore, Dominic Monaghan ("The Lord of the Rings," "LOST"), and Aidan Gillen ("Game of Thrones"), Game Informer reported.

There are still a lot of mysteries about the game, as the demo footage served only as a teaser. It is, however, easy to get lost in its multiple perspectives and often overlapping storylines as players manipulate time.
