Greek yogurt Chobani has been removed from some supermarkets after customers complained that the cups were "swelling or bloating."

According to the Associated Press, Chobani Inc. opened an investigation on the blistered bowls and discovered a kind of mold ordinarily found in dairy products that could potentially have been the culprit.

Chobani stated that the sour product was only about five percent of its total inventory, but the company didn't specify how many containers were affected. They also mentioned the bad yogurt probably came from a warehouse in Idaho.

Now, the company is linking up with retailers to get the moldy yogurt off the shelves and put cups with a 16-012 code and expiration dates Sept. 11 to Oct. 7 in their place.

But this isn't a formal recall, since, according to a representative from supermarket Kroger, there were no health concerns or reports of illnesses.

"It was not a food safety issue," Keith Dailey of Kroger said.

Chobani took to Twitter on Tuesday to respond to customers who complained. Most of them used #chobani to reach out to the company.

One user described her yogurt as "unnervingly fizzy." Another said that it tasted like "wine."

User CondonShelb said that the strawberry "tasted really old." Chobani invited her to join a chat and switch the sullied yogurt for a fresh one.

The company also told customers who weren't happy with their product to email care@chobani.com for replacement cups.
